Rail, counters

We made some more movement yesterday. The rail around the stairs got delivered. The limestone counter tops for the kitchen got dropped off (except for the pieces around the sink) and I started polishing the counter tops for the bathroom.

 

Countertops are setting up

We got the concrete in the forms. I am not super thrilled with how it all went. The fiber optics went terribly. That may be a complete failure. The "white" concrete was full of tan sand. The brown counter for the guest bath I got way to wet so I am pretty worried about the final strength. Hopefully it all turns out. I had to order a new secco polisher, my other one died after one job. If this one does not do better I will be done with this brand. Ok enough complaining. I will pull the forms tomorrow and start the finish work on them.

Another busy weekend

Either the siding guys or the drywall guys hit a wire and we had a short in the garage. So I had to cut an access in the garage attic and install a couple junction boxes. One more project off the list. The only electrical left to do is wire up the island and move a can light that is in the way of the pantry. I got the steps built for the north and south sides of the house.

And I got the forms all ready for concrete.

Rock is mostly done, Tile is all up, doors are hung and trim is underway

We have made some pretty big strides this week. We had an old family friend come out to give us some pointers on the rock, turns out he could have it done in a day for about 300 bucks, DEAL!

We still have to wrap one more post but that should be pretty easy to get done.

We finished getting all the tile put on the shower walls. We will start caulk and grout this weekend. We found these Little brackets called quick door hangers at home depot and we got all the doors hung in a few hours. Once that was done we hit the trim pretty hard. That is another project we can probably have done by the end of the weekend, or at least pretty close. We started staining the front door so that will replace the temp door next week.

Wall tile progress, water, electric ect.

We have chipped away a little more at this project. The tiling on the shower walls is moving along nicely. We should have that part finished up by this weekend.

I also has the plumber come and hook up the water, so we have water in the house now. He also put in the urinal while he was here.

I finished up all the outside electrical and it is pretty much done on the inside too. We had a few issues but I think everything is working properly now.

And last but not least we had a load of gravel put on the driveway. It is going to be nice to not have to drive through mud to get to the house now. 

Trim, doors, well, tile, ect.

We are down to lots of small jobs at this point. The well is in and the pressure tank is set. Unfortunately the plumber didn't stub out a place for us to tie in at. I finished up the shower pan for the master bathroom and Calee got the tile laid on the floor of the shower. We finished up the heated floor in the master bath and laid the tile in both bathrooms. Now we just have to finish up the shower walls.

The cabinet guys got most of the cabinets set. The counter top guy came and got the kitchen measured. I am going to do concreted for both the bathrooms.

After 2 weekends with a paint sprayer we finally got all the trim painted. We finished trimming a couple windows yesterday. We also finished up the stairs.

Slow progress

Things are moving at a snails pace right now. We did get the septic in and the well is going in today. Most of our trim got here 2 days ago so we will be renting a sprayer to paint doors and trim over the weekend.
