Our finished up on Friday. We got all the tracks on and all the materials moved up stairs so we can start on the upper walls. The garage footing is formed and waiting on the inspector.
Honestly ICF is a pretty simple building technique. If you do decide to use it find one person that has helped on at least one house. It is really pretty simple. One person who knows what they are doing could manage 5-6 people. I feel like I could do it with out any help now.
Peter, it's been great to get to make your acquaintance through my blog, so I thought I'd pop over and see how it's going. Do these pictures ever take me back! ICF is the best decision ever, such a smart way to build a home. We're still amazed by it two years after moving into ours. Best of luck!
found your site via a post on TSP.
ReplyDeleteI'm in Oklahoma and plan on building a ICF home in the distant future. I enjoy reading your posts... looking good so far.
What do you think has been the biggest hurdle so far?
Are you asking about the biggest hurtle as a GC dealing with ICF or the actual construction part of the ICF?
ReplyDeleteAny of it.
